“Every path, every street in the world is your walking meditation path” — Nhat Hanh

You can do anything and everything, mindfully.

Walking is a great example of something that can be done mindfully.

Today, go for a short 10–20 walk — or longer if you wish.

In mindfulness meditation, we use our breath to anchor us to the present moment, but, in walking meditation, our attention is drawn to our feet!

Notice the sensations you feel in your feet and the rest of your body as you step back and forth.

How does the earth feel beneath you? Is it hard or soft? What other things do you notice? Any sounds or smells.

If your mind starts to wonder bring your attention back to your feet and the steps you are taking.

Alternately, as you pass objects you might want to label them, for example, tree, car, cat.
