Creating a Nook to Inspire Reading
Getting cosy with books…
“To become smart you need to read just ten books, but to find those ten, you need to read thousands.” — unknown
Life is busy, chaotic and these are difficult times we live in.
A free afternoon without any responsibilities or even just a spare 5 minutes seems luxurious.
Pick up a book is the easy part, reading it is the difficult part. But what if we dedicate a little space in our home to reading. That way it can become more of a priority to us.
An inviting way to encourage us to pick up a book and relax. Start with the intention of reading for just 5 minutes a day and see what happens.
What is a reading nook?
Growing up I had a little reading nook under the stairs. The walls were full of books. I would spend hours looking through the books. Although at the time I wasn’t really able to read them very well — I have dyslexia.
A reading nook is a dedicated small and cosy space for our books. A soft chair or large cushion, some blankets and a bookcase is all that is required.
Throw in some houseplants for good measure. The important thing is that you create a soothing space that will make you feel calm, relaxed and snuggled.
